Magnificent Mango Point

Thank you Francine for sharing your little piece of paradise! What makes Mango Point a perfect vacation spot? Rainbows so close you can almost reach, unparalled views of the majestic Pitons, sensational sunsets from the cottage, panaromic star gazing and a staff that is beyond any 5 star hotel! We are a family of five that were celebrating our 40th anniversary and our grandaughter's first birthday. We chose Mango Point based on a friend's recomendation and we are so glad that we did. Our family spent most of our time relaxing, floating in the pool, enjoying the views and the beautiful gardens. A few things that we really enjoyed were the Tuesday night buffet at Anse Chastanet with a Steel Band, the volcanic tour with mud baths, the beautiful botanical gardens with mineral baths, a Sunday night dinner at Orlando's and another Sunday evening sunset and dinner at Ladera/Dasheens. We took a nice sail boat trip on a catamaran. The family had incredible beach time at Sugar Beach, whose hospitality and ambiance is fabulous for visiting guests. We could go on and on about St. Lucia which we love the island and the people, but the true gems of this vacation were the staff members. Our driver Jones was incredible, very competent, flexible and worth every penny. We cannot fathom renting a car with Jones's excellent service. It was so much fun traveling around the island with him. At the house, the staff is so professional, helpful and kind. Emanuel keeps the pool and gardens immaculate and assists with whatever you need. We cannot express in words how we feel about Felicia and Pamela as they really went out of their way to make our vacation special, keeping the house clean, doing laundry and providing breakfast, lunch, cocktails and dinner. Felicia comes from 9 - 3 and Pamela 2-8. Felicia made terrific breakfast wth wonderful eggs, french toast, pancakes, bacon and fruit platters. She was excellent at making lunches of sandwiches, grilled cheese, hamburgers, tacos and most times warming up leftovers from Pamela's gourmet meals. Where to begin? Grilled tuna, Rasta Pasta, grilled mahi in garlic butter, honey ginger chicken, stuffed chicken, cheese soufle, vegetable fried rice, stuffed christophene, special chocolate birthday cake for our grandaughter, flan, key lime pie, the best ever bananas soufle and much more. Not only is the food delicious but the presentations for all meals were equal or beyond any top restaurant. These ladies are super at their positions and work closely with each other, making everything so easy for you and they are always so happy! We hope to come back one day. Thank you again Francine for sharing Magnificent Mango Point with us.

SUPERB VILLA!!

Francine was terrific and responded to all of our questions right away and explained everything to us to make the trip as wonderful as possible. We went to St. Lucia to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary and our baby boys first birthday. And WOW!! What a gorgeous and magnificent villa Mango Point is! Jones our wonderful driver picked us up from the airport and from the minute we walked in we were blown away! It's been a few days since we've been back home and we are still sad over having to leave what we considered a little paradise. We will definitely be returning to St. Lucia and cannot imagine staying anywhere else but at Mango Point. The way the villa was built couldn't have been better. Everything is open and airy. The garden we walked by every time to our room was so beautiful to look at. The tropical plants surrounding the villa were gorgeous and the attention to detail in the villa was magnificent! Francine did an amazing job with it!! So we read some complaints about the bugs and whatnot. Yes, there are a lot of bugs and there are mosquitoes, there are birds flying in and out of the home, and there are geckos crawling around on the walls and we ABSOLUTELY loved that about the home!! I think that's part of what made staying there so wonderful for us. It was an incredible experience and it felt like we were out in nature. We are big nature lovers so it didn't bother us one bit. Our 1 year old enjoyed seeing all the birds flying around and loved chasing the little ants around. He was full of curiosity there which was great to see! The pictures make it pretty clear that it's an open villa and you are on an island, so if you don't understand what comes with an open villa it's better that you go to an enclosed resort somewhere, although you'd be missing out! Of all the places we went to visit on the island we loved staying in the most and enjoying the villa, its breathtaking views from every corner and the absolutely amazing staff that we fell in love with, which we miss dearly and actually consider them like family now. Francine is very blessed to have such amazing and good people take care of the villa! We felt pampered the entire time we were there. Felicia was super sweet and made us the most amazing breakfast every morning and would put fresh flowers on the table for us every morning and on our beds as well which made us feel extra special. She also made us delicious lunches like light sandwiches and her pizza is really good! It felt like such a treat to not have to worry about keeping the villa tidy. She did everything for us, from cleaning to taking care of our laundry, which we are not used to, but made everything feel that much more relaxing especially with a baby. Pamela made the most superb dinners every night ( just like the other reviews mentioned) which were so delicious we decided on not even going out to dinner anywhere else the entire stay. We really enjoyed going grocery shopping with her and enjoyed her making us some local things as well such as the fish fritters and dasheene. The grilled tuna was incredible, as well as the lamb curry, chicken curry, cheese soufflé, potato gratin, and ALL of her desserts are amazing!! We also really enjoyed her rum punch and pina coladas! Jones took us everywhere we needed to go and was an excellent driver! He also recommended Daniel to us for a boat tour and snorkeling and he was awesome and really open minded being that the day we went out on the boat it rained, so we had to cut the tour short and he was more than willing to take us out again the next day to finish the tour and go snorkeling. Maura was awesome as well! She gave us a massage at home, which was very relaxing. Emmanuel was great at keeping the garden beautiful and taking care of the pool. We enjoyed talking to him and he was super sweet and even made us little bowls as souvenirs before we left out of calabash that grows on trees there!!

What a fantastic week we had at Mango Point. The house was exactly as the pictures, if not better, especially the views. The staff were all welcoming and wonderful. Felicia prepared us amazing breakfasts daily and kept the house nice and clean. Emmanuel kept the grounds and pool clean on a daily basis, in addition to bringing us fruits and flowers from the property. And Pamela prepared us phenomenal dinners every night, we cancelled plans to eat out after tasting her first dinner ; she was also a delight to talk to. Jones, served as our tour guide on several occasions; he is a friendly and gracious man as well as accommodating. Thank you Francine, for sharing your home with us. We would love to come back with the family in the future.

My sentiments on Mango Point are almost identical to the other reviewers. The combination of the incredible view, privacy, beautiful pool, very pleasant staff, savings in food costs, and amazing area made it the perfect splurge honeymoon location for my new wife and me. In terms of advice, we did find Ladera restaurant to be the perfect dressy night out (men brings smart casual pants) with an exceptional lamb dish. The driver the resort provided on request was very nice and had a nice vehicle. Arriving before sunset is a great suggestion that Francine had, as the restaurant is between the pitons and has an incredible view for the sunset (although only guests staying at the resort can sit front row). Sugar beach was more pleasant than anse chastenet beach, although anse chastenet was walkable/hikeable from the villa. Both beaches have great snorkeling in protected parks. Thank-you very much Francine for providing us the opportunity to visit this exquisite property!

Mango Point…. Otherwise known as Heaven! We had the best time imaginable at Mango Point. We felt so lucky to have found it and actually be there. We had to pinch ourselves. The place looks exactly like the pictures… Really! The view is something that you could just never imagine. The garden is beautiful and the place is incredibly private. We are already planning on how we can possibly get back there again. The house is huge, clean and neat. Perfect for relaxing. The pool is amazing and warm. The bathrooms are just gorgeous. The house felt safe and secure but also breezy and open. There is a whole seperate house on the property which was just amazing for watching sunsets on the deck. The staff were super helpful and the place runs like a well oiled machine to make your trip as pleasant as possible. We had activities planned for each day and basically cancelled them all - why would we have wanted to be anywhere else! To be honest we were a little hesitant about having staff, but they really made our trip so relaxing and lovely. Pamela was a wonderful cook and made such delicious food such as fresh local tuna. Again we cancelled reservations at restaurants because Pamela was better! It was super convenient that Pamela could go to the supermarket for us at local prices, and having our own food and cocktails at the house saved us a small fortune, making the house great value. St Lucia itself can be more expensive than expected so drinking our own cocktails poolside completely made our trip. Did I mention the pool? Did I mention the cocktails? 🙂 Take their advice and bring along food you like with you from home as an extra luxury. Also definitely get the driver pick up they recommend. Jones was lovely and the house it up a steep hill so well worth it. Just take a good book and don’t leave. We went as a couple and it was perfect. We are now just trying to work out how we could possibly get back there with a big group of friends!

Mango Point was amazing in every way

Mango Point was amazing in every way. My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon, and could not have been happier! The photos do not lie, and the view does not disappoint! The house staff were incredible, ready for any request we could throw at them, and the food they prepared was incredible. You will quickly learn, as we did, that eating elsewhere on the island, even expensive resorts, is sub-par compared to the staff's preparations at Mango Point. Best of all, the price is far less than the resorts or restaurants of similar (if not lesser) quality. There is also a driver dedicated to you during your stay, who is very helpful in selecting the best activities around the island for you or your group. The house itself is like something out of a movie. From the setting (incredible) to the decor (immaculate), no detail was overlooked. There is no AC, and the house is open concept, but that was never an issue during our stay, which was during the warmest time of year. Room for up to eight people, but for my wife and I, being two people in such a large house was perfect on our honeymoon... though I could easily imagine returning with friends and family. Do yourself a favor: and ignore the resorts/all-inclusives and choose this place before someone else does. It will exceed your expectations in every way!

Great view, great house, great staff!

Wow, what a view! You can sit by the pool for hours and just watch the cruise ships or sail boats passing the Pitons. The staff was top notch and Pamela is a great cook. We had fish most nights and it was all spectacular. Would definitely go back.

Tropical paradise

This home and location is fabulous. A perfect view if the majestic pitons enveloped by the deep ocean. Wonderful staff in the house cooking scrumptious meals, immaculate house, tropical gardens. A fabulous driver Jones, in hand to take you anywhere on the island for a reasonable fee ( roads are very tricky) private boats are cheap to charted for fishing, cruising, whale and dolphin watching ( we used Capt. Mike's). A 30 minute helicopter charter shows you the entire island. Local bars and hotels serve nice meals and drinks are are perfectly safe- mango point is a perfect " away from it all" holiday. A perfect villa for 3 couples, or 4 plus 2 children. Hard to fault it!

Most Beautiful view in St. Lucia

Mango Point is a beautiful home and a fantastic place to stay. Our group of six adults were so comfortable there and loved relaxing in the living room with it's open arched doors looking out to the sea or sitting by the pool watching the sail boats, yachts and sunsets--doing both while experiencing the best view of the Pitons in St. Lucia. In addition to the wonderful home and setting, the staff is incredible! Pamela was not only fun to be around, but a wonderful cook and prepared us beautiful dinners every night. Felicia and Theresa took care of us during the day by preparing wonderful breakfasts and cleaning up after us. Jones was a delight and drove us anywhere we wanted to go. We also loved the Anse Chastanet beach which is within walking distance. It has the best snorkeling in St. Lucia. None of us thought that we could ever top this wonderful experience! Thank you Francine for being such a pleasure to work with and for providing such a beautiful home and wonderful staff--making our trip to St. Lucia truly special. Janice and Tom R.

What can we say except we had an awesome week at Mango Point! Francine you have a lovely home and awesome staff. Pamela cooked us some incredible dinners and took care of any special requests we had. Felicia and Theresa prepared delicious breakfasts and lunch as well and they all made us feel right at home. Jones was a great go to guy, to get us wherever we needed to go. Anse Chastanet beach was a great place to snorkel on an almost daily basis. We also had a great time enjoying the great sunsets poolside every evening at cocktail hour.

The villa is clean and airy perched atop beautiful Anse Chasanet beach panoramic views. The staff were friendly and professional, we felt well cared for from arrival to departure. The entire experience felt like a dream. Thank you for sharing your place with us Francine.

We loved every morning, noon and night, every meal, every walk to the beach, every swim, and every Frank Sinatra song. We were immediately put under its spell.. not just because of it's beauty but because of the people who make it your home. Pamela cooks delicious dinners every night. She loves to laugh, tell stories and teach you how to cook if you are interested. Felicia cooks breakfast every morning and makes sure everything is clean and comfortable. Jones, the driver, is a lovely man who is intelligent, humorous and very accomodating. Manuel keeps the grounds immaculate as well as magical. He is there everyday quietly going about his business. He is a wealth of information and insight to the islands flora and fauna as well as the spirit of life. Mango Point is something to experience. We all loved our time there.

This was my first trip to St. Lucia. I didn't know exactly what to expect. I did a lot of research and planning before via Trip Advisor. I'm so glad I did my research and ended up in Mango Point instead of Rodney Bay. This was an amazing trip. Mango Point was everything we had hoped and more. I brought a group of girlfriends with me to celebrate my 50th birthday. I've rented homes all over the world, Bora Bora, Moorea, Eleuthera, Hawaii, Italy, Costa Rica, Tulum.... This experience exceeded them all. I've never had a house rental that came with staff who took care of your every need. Pamela, Felicia and Emanuel were exceptional. Pamela speaks perfect English and she took us around shopping and found items we were looking for. She's a great chef and we enjoyed every meal she cooked for us. My favorites are her quiche, Potatoes Au Gratin and pumpkin soup. I'm still trying to duplicate that soup at home after she gave me the recipe. We also enjoyed her sunset rum cocktails. Felicia made delicious breakfasts for us. We asked for the traditional hot chocolate which she also made for us. It's really nice having the house cleaned for you every day! The house is amazing. The view exceeds all. I stayed in the Mango Tree Room and it was so cool. I loved it! It was like sleeping in a forest over looking a spectacular view. We went snorkeling a lot at Anse Chasenet. It was the best snorkling I've ever experienced. Amazing. Only problem when we were there were jelly fish. 🙁 I'd bring some petroleum jelly next time. We went to the volcano, Sugar Beach, shopping in Castries, we had a dinner at Dasheene and lunch at Jardin Cacao both were good and fun. We drove ourselves and it was never a problem. I love St. Lucia and the people make it so special . If you're lucky enough to stay at Mango Point you'll be very happy. It was a trip of a lifetime. I'm hoping to get back there next year with family.

This Villa had a killer view of the Pitons. The staff were outstanding, they grocery shopped for us, cooked very good meals. Definitely recommend using their taxi driver for transportation. Only downside to this property was no air conditioning at all. Mattress was very firm. Mosquito netting worked well, grounds were well maintained as was the pool. Staff made great Pina Coladas. We did eat out one night at Ladera which was good. Ate out one other night down the hill at Anse Chastanet and our Pamela cooked more delicious meals than this resturant.

This property is amazing to say the least! My husband and I came here with 3 other couples for 7 days. The other reviews on here are spot on. The town of Soufriere was friendly and accommodating, we walked to the market on several occasions and called Jones (the driver) for a ride back to the house. Pamela's cooking is to die for; there were never any leftovers. We only ate out Sunday night because the staff is off duty; we made sure to be home for Pamela's dinners every other night of the trip. The beach at Anse Chastanet is one of the best on the island, has great snorkeling/scuba diving, and is walking distance. Most of the group did a day trip to Castries by water taxi with a stop at the rum distillery and snorkeling on the way back. This was preferred since the boat ride is much shorter than driving. Four of the more adventurous members hiked Petit Piton and Jones did a nice job of arranging their hiking guide and transportation. My husband has traveled the world and noted that the location, house, and staff made this an unforgettable vacation. We will definitely be back in the future!

Amazing Views & Amazing Staff

Our group had the very good fortune of staying at Mango Point for a week and it was everyone's first time in St. Lucia. It probably will not be the last. Francine was available via email for countless questions before and after booking, and we spoke on the phone a few times. She was very easy to work with. When I think of the best attributes of the house, it's a tie - the views and the staff. The views are simply amazing. Even 7 days later they still blew us all away. The same can be said for the staff; these wonderful people go above and beyond. In the morning, Felicia and an extra helper would come in the morning and make breakfast. Our group particularly liked her banana pancakes, the bacon (I'm going through withdrawals), and FRENCH TOAST. Also the fresh fruit there was amazing. Emanuel (sp?) did a great job of taking care of the grounds and the pool and even brought us some fruits from his garden. I've stayed in villas in St. John several times, and the pool has never been even remotely as clean as the wonderful job he did. Finally, Pamela would come in the early afternoon and make our dinners. She also shopped for us, for a very small fee. Her food was amazing - we only ate out one time the whole week- and her desserts kept getting better and better as the week went on (and they started out great, so that's really saying something). I chatted with her several times and always found her extremely friendly. I may or may not have tried to get her to come back home with us. I'll never tell. The house can set up a driver for you so you don't have to rent a car. I highly suggest this as the roads are pretty narrow and can be scary at times. The driver, Jones, is wonderful. His van can fit 8 or 9, and at the end of the week it ended up being less expensive than if we would have rented a car. Jones was extremely friendly and always available for us. We always felt safe with him. Now on to the house itself. The pool, as stated earlier, is wonderful. There is a lot of outside seating. The living room is large and airy with ample seating. There are 3 nice sized rooms (one being in a cottage) and 1 small bedroom. If I were going to suggest any improvements, I think they would be to update the mosquito netting in the cottage as friends said it did not fit the bed correctly and they ended up getting quite bit since neither cottage or home have screens. Also, maybe add standing fans to each room, not just the master.

Mango point has the most amazing views of the pitons and sea, the villa is fully equipped with nice bedrooms, a lovely large pool, showers, kitchen, Dvd etc...the villa has a lovely lounge area which is very large and the views in the morning and sunset are just picture perfect..the beach is a 15 min walk...the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and Pamela, felicia and see will see to your meals which are very nice, Emmanuel the housekeeper is wonderful arriving early morning...mr Jones the taxi driver wil take you everywhere you need and we would recommend you do not hire a car but book mr jones. I say this because the road to the villa is rough and little close to the edge for my liking and I'm a experience driver. Anse chase net beach is beautiful and we recommend you hire a boat to go to Castries, marigot bay and dolphin, whale watching.we thoroughly enjoyed and stay here.

My Wife, 8 year old son, father in law and myself just returned from staying at Mango point April 24th to May 8th and we had a wonderful time. What can I say that hasn't already been said. The staff, Pamela, Felecia and Emanuel are absolutely fabulous and took care of us like we were family. Pamela made the most tasty meals and was very accommodating in preparing meals for our son who is a very picky eater. Felecia made the most wonderful breakfasts and kept the house tip top clean, she even washed our clothes on a daily basis. Emanuel was so kind as to find some water toys that previous guests had left behind so my son would have something to play with in the pool which was very much appreciated. The owner even arranged for a jeep rental and had it delivered to the villa the morning after we arrived. The view from the patio and pool area was magnificent and i never got tired of looking out on the Pitons. The location is perfect as there were many things to do so close to Soufriere. The mud baths at the volcano are a must as well as the Diamond Waterfall, Botanical Gardens. Anse Chastne as well as Sugar Beach are also must do's if you like beached and snorkeling. If you are adventurous and don't mind driving the curvy St Lucian roads the drive through the rain forest towards Castries / Rodney Bay is amazing! Make sure you take the time to detour to Marigot Bay as it one of the most beautiful locations on the island with lots of wonderful restaurants. Close to there is the Rum Factory tour which as a rum drinker myself I found very interesting. In Rodney Bay we ate lunch at a Pier side restaurant where the Briggs Unicorn was moored and we were lucky enough to be able to take a tour of the ship for free as the manager of the ship overheard us talking about it. For those of you who don't know, the Unicorn was used in filming Roots and was also used in the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean. I would highly recommend this villa to any and all.

Million Dollar Views!

Our group, four couples (ages 57-65), arrived in St. Lucia the first week in February. We took Francine's advice & had a driver pick us up at the airport & we were happy we did! The roads off the main road are not in good shape & are very winding & in many areas, extremely steep. If this is your first trip to Mango Point, I would highly recommend that you hire a driver to pick you up at the airport & take you to the house. We did rent 2 cars for the week & they were delivered to the house the next day & they came back & picked them up the day we left. It was very scary driving around St. Lucia so we did not wander too far from Mango Point. The house is rustic but lovely. Be aware that one of the bedrooms & baths is a cottage detached from the house so you will need to walk down steps to get to it & it can be tricky at night. It overlooks the water & is wonderfully charming. The master bedroom/bath was very comfortable & large & the bedroom/bath adjacent to it was large & comfortable. However, the 4th bedroom was not pleasant at all. It is located behind the kitchen/laundry room & extremely small with twin beds (which I was told were not comfortable). The second night the staff put them together to make one bed which was better but still, not ideal. So, I would say that Mango Point is best suited for 3 couples, not 4. It was just an uncomfortable feeling to make one couple have the "bad" bedroom & bath. My guess is that when the house was built this room was designed as the "maid's quarters". The best part about Mango Point is the view. The pool is lovely, the sunsets magnificient, & the flowers and hummingbirds bountiful. Emmanuel did a fabulous job of keeping the pool clean & tending to all the vegetation. Pamela is a wonderful cook and extremely pleasant. Felicia & Deane did a great job of keeping the house clean & refreshing the sheets & towels. It was a real treat to have a staff with the house. A few general comments: to get to the beach, you must walk down a VERY steep hill to Anse Chasanet (resort). Walking back can be very difficult if you are not fit. The sand is black so if you are expecting long, white, sandy beaches - this is not the place to be. You can rent chairs from the resort ($15/day) & you are only allowed to be on the small portion of the beach. Members of our group enjoyed snorkeling directly off this beach. The biggest negative about St. Lucia was the feeling of not being "safe". We had to lock the gates & bolt the doors.

I just returned from Mango point, at which we stayed for a week. One word…Paradise. The House is beautiful, open and very well kept. The selling point….the views are to die for! The open space gives you a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pitons and the sounding ocean. The pool is perfectly situated in the back, and gives a feeling of ecstasy when gazing into the gorgeous landscape. The bedrooms are large, clean and the beds are very comfortable. The living room is spacious and a perfect place to sip wine and enjoy a beautiful sunset. The beach is a short 10 minutes away and well worth it! Francine, the owner, was extremely helpful and easy to book through. She walked us through the entire process and was very professional. She provided us with food and drink options before our arrival. By the time we arrived, all the food and drinks were available for us. There are two staff helpers that will prepare you dinner and breakfast (delicious!) and clean the house on a daily basis. Francine also provided us with transportation to and from the airport. The drivers were very friendly and used them during our entire stay. The Staff also recommended day excursions such as hiking through the Pitons, snorkeling and shopping at the local town market. In all, our stay was amazing and we cannot wait to return.

Indescribably gorgeous. Photos and descriptions don't do it justice. Excellent staff. Personal on-call chauffer "Indy". Pamela was an excellent cook. Meals were all made to order. Tons of activities - climbing the Gros Piton, hiking into the rainforest to a breathing waterfall, snorkeling, jet skiing, shopping in local craft markets. We give Mango Point our very highest recommendation.

Gorgeous is right! And private, spacious, fantastic! This house is absolutely wonderful! The pictures are nice, but the house is so much more. We just returned from staying a week, and it was heavenly. So spacious and open, with views beyond description from every room. Really-take a shower while gazing at the Caribbean Sea. The house was built years ago, and since then the flowers and trees seem to have grown the house into the side of the mountain. The stone walls of the house are about 18 inches thick, with a light white plastering on the inside which still shows the stone texture, the ceilings are high and made of wood, the floors are tile from Barbados. The outside is brought in by opening the huge wooden doors to the terraces and voila! The ocean and the Pitons and the incredible flowers! The swimming pool is on its few steps down through bougainvilleas galore. More than half the pool area is open to the sea and Pitons view. One end has a covered area providing shade and comfy padded loungers. The flowers-and the humming birds!- just go on and on. And then there's the food! Two wonderful women came in from about 9-8 daily, very non intrusive, keeping everything clean, beds made, towels re-stocked, etc, and cooking. Yes, cooking! We had most of our meals at the house and they were all delicious! We communicated before arriving about the food, and paid there for the supplies that were purchased for us. We could have shopped ourselves as well, but ended up not needing to. Everything was fresh and local, fabulous salads, soups, quiche, casseroles and fresh squeezed juices: orange, grapefruit, passion fruit! Oh, and we had an incredible massage therapist to come to the house! The owner is on the property adjacent to the house- she is so gracious, friendly, and welcoming. She provided the initial tour of the house, and was available for information sharing, and never intrusive. She is also the talented artist responsible for many of the beautiful paintings throughout the house. The house is located about ten minutes to town via a steep and challenging road- you do need four wheel drive. Also about ten minutes walk downhill from Anse Chastanet palm lined beach.

Our family has just returned to England after a wonderful holiday at Mango Point. My wife and I arrived on 24th March and our three children and two sons in law joined us on the following Sunday for our second week, which was a celebration for my 60th and our eldest daughter's 30th birthdays. The villa is an ideal location for a special holiday. The view of The Pitons is stunning and the facilities are excellent, with spacious rooms and a fantastic pool. The staff - particularly Pamela (who is a wonderful cook), Felicia and Manuel were very friendly and helpful. The owner arranged for us to hire a jeep, which is essential because of the steep hill and bumpy road leading up to the villa, and we hired a second one from the same company (Cool Breeze in Soufriere) when the rest of the family joined us. We all like snorkelling and found the marine reserves at Anse Chastanet beach and Sugar Beach to be full of colourful fish, with very clear water. The water temperature was 27C. My son and I also did three scuba dives with the Scuba St Lucia, located on the beach at Anse Chastanet. Other activities we enjoyed included a boat trip with snorkelling stops, a hike down to the waterfall in the Enbas Saut Rainforest (both of these organised through Jones the taxi driver) and kayaking from Marigot Bay to Roseau Mangrove with DFH Kayaking. It was hard to tear ourselves away after two weeks!

In addition to the lovely villa, the grounds are beautiful with flowering plants and hummingbirds everywhere with an exceptionally friendly staff, who helped our sons and daughters plan a surprise party for us. They cooked whatever you prefer for meals and we enjoyed some of the local dishes like curried goat, salt fish fritters, fried plantains, banana-pinapple flambe, cheese soufle, and yummy salads and friuits. The Anse Chasnet beach below has the best coral reef in a protected diving area. There are actually 2 beaches that allow for a nice walking route, with sugar plantation ruins available for free to tour. We will always treasure our memories of this family reunion.

Eight of us from Ohio and New Mexico arrived January 19 for ten days. We were immediatly awed by the view of the Pitons and the sea directly in front of the Villa. The villa was beautiful and spacious. Large bedrooms and and good mattress. The swimming pool was large and kept very clean by our pool man, Emanuel. He was a pleasant man to be around and talk to. No one got a mosquito bite. The staff was pleasant and Pamala and Felica made us delicious meals. They also kept the villa very clean. The weather was perfect every day. Can't say enough of how we enjoyed the stay. The owner Francine was very accomadating and answered all my questions before we got there.

My Family and I recently stayed at Mango Point. It was one of the most relaxing holidays we have taken. The location of the house is one of the best of Soufriere. The View of the Pitons is postcard perfect. The house itself is extremely comforatble with open arched doors that lead to a deck and a wonderful private pool. The staff, Felicia and Pamela, is a great asset to the house. Both are extremely friendly and very accomodating in making your stay extremely pleasant. Felicia prepares amazing breakfasts, as for Pamela, her dinners are succulant. We never had to go out to restaurants, as dinner at home was so much better. I would totally recommend this house.

True St Lucia experience

Spent the first week of January, 2012 here for my 60th birthday with my wife and seven other adult friends, and it was everything you could want. We visited Jade Mountain nearby where the cheapest room is $1200 per night, and the views are no better than from here. In fact, this is the view on most vacation promos of the island. The pictures posted are not only accurate, but can't fully capture the view which is so mesmerizing you will not want to leave the property. I am a foodie and had planned various dinner excursions, which, except for Ladera, which is 15 minutes away by car, as is Jalouisie, we never took one. The cook, Pamela, and the rest of the staff make the stay here. One disadvantage of renting a home is you do your own cooking and cleaning, but here you have a great cook, two maids and a gardener who made the beds, changed the sheets and towels and kept everything tidy. Best of all, Pamela is as good a cook as there is on the island. My birthday dinner at Ladera was with few exceptions, no better than Pamela's cooking and much more expensive. We spent about $40 per day per person on food, and that was for three full meals a day, and included wine, beer and liquor. You can have Pamela shop for you or you can go to the store yourself which is fun and part of the adventure. Rent a car and explore, and don't be alarmed by the roads. The surface, which is rough leading to Mango Point, is there for a reason, to give you traction when it rains. If you want an American style home or condo look elsewhere. If you want a true island experience and to enjoy the culture and people, this is the place. Tip: Pamela's lobster dinner, key lime pie and cheese soufflé are to die for! The evening Catamaran sail on the wharf in Soufriere was wonderful.

We returned to Mango Point after last visiting in 1999 - time does fly by and we will never wait that long to return. Mango Point, the staff, the house, the view and just the way it feels to be there is incredible. We really had the best vacation ever - and bringing our boys who are now 24 and 21 with girlfriends was a real treat - all of us enjoyed the house, the pool, the walks down to the beach to snorkle, scuba dive, kayak and hang out on the beach. We are definitely going back next year - Easy and fantastic trip - thank you!!!

My wife and l, together with friends, stayed 7 times in Mango Point. lt's about time we share our knowledge of this paradise with prospective vacationers in search of a fabulous place. The minute we arrive we are enthralled by the charm of the Villa and the beauty of the scenery. Both surpass in emotional strength any possible description. lt's early morning: lovely green humming birds are busy sucking in the flower nectar. I can't keep my eyes off the breathtaking view of the Pitons that appears when I open the shutters. The rising sun progressively light up the summits and add patches of warm color and touches of gold in the landscape. Brightly colored fishing boats are on their way. Sailing boats race towards Saint Vincent... Soon all guests are enjoying a plentiful and delicious breakfast prepared by Felicia to suit each one's preference. And then? Some just stay in Mango Point enjoying the pool and the view, sunbathing and chatting, some rush down to the beach for a long swim in the warm Garibbean Sea. Others walk down to Soufriere and climb up 300 ft on the way back just for the fun of it. Others would rather take a hike: along the shore past Anse Chastanet, or all the way to the foot of the Pitons, or up the trail to the top of the hill overlooking Soufriere 1000 ft below. A tempting midday luncheon prepared by Felicia with all sorts of appetizing salads and delicious sandwiches is waiting for us. The lsland is very rich in interesting spots that deserve a visit. When we decide to take a tour we call upon Jones' services. A very good driver, Jones drives us, acting like a guide, drawing our attention to points of interest and humorously chronicling the local events. Late aftemoon when the shadows get longer it's time, for those who like quietness, to try and capture in watercolor the magic of light and shades. Once or twice in each stay we went out for dinner to some well-known restaurant. We certainly enjoyed these little outings but in the matter of cooking we found no better place than Mango Foint. Pamela is one of the best cooks in the area. We also like her exquisite rum Punch, daiquiris or ginger- tea. A dinner cooked by Pamela with prime local products is a real treat. Just add some appropriate wines and that's a perfect way to start a merry evening with friends. What a blessing to stay in a place furnished and decorated with such perfect taste! To be in Mango Point with good friends is a true enchantment.

6 adults and 2 children stayed at Mango point February 2010 and loved every single moment! The view is magestic! The staff are friendly, courteous, welcoming and make you appreciate the beauty of the people and their culture! Our Chefs, create beautiful meals for us from banana crepes, ginger french toast, chicken roti from scratch, chocolate souffle, chargrilled freshly caught baracuda...the list goes on. The villa was comfortable and very clean..everyday! Pool was perfect! No a/c.. no problem, the gentle winds were perfect. Barely any bugs. The beaches were beautiful and the snorkeling at Anse Chastenet and Jalousie were clear and full of life. Great biodiversity! Having a driver was amazing for convenience and for more St. Lucian charm! Soufriere, small town, not much to see, people are kind and warm, some street people as any where.. but safe and will leave you alone if you tell then. Great location for the volcano, Pitons, Botanical Gardens and Sailing! If I could I would move there tomorrow!

My wife and I, with our extended family (parents/siblings) just spent 8 nights at Mango Point. We absolutely loved it. The home and the views are amazing. We toured the rest of the island and were so happy we stayed where we did - our views were literally better than those at the $1,600 a night Jade Mountain. The staff (especially Pamela) made our stay outstanding - she cooked fantastic meals and did our shopping. We went out for dinner 1X and spent $235 US. The meal was good but not as good as those at the house - and 7 people ate 3 meals a day for a week and it cost us less than $650 US TOTAL!!! The home is comfortable (open - so yes you get a few bugs) but we were absolutely satisfied in all respects. If you are looking for an affordable vacation in a spot generally only available to the rich - Mango Point delivers and then some.

Mango Point is a lovely home with a world class view of the Pitons. The staff is very friendly and unobtrusive. The house is a about a mile north of the town of Soufriere and the Anse Chastenet resort is about a half mile going north down the road. A really beautiful place. Soufriere is not for the faint of heart and you may not want to spend much time in town.

Mango Point is a gracious and lovely open-air home tucked into the side of a gorgeous slope in Soufrerie. Our entire family of 5 enjoyed our vacation in this treasured, adventurous location above the water. The helpful staff was key here, and accomodations were very comfortable and sprawling. All of our meals were memorable. We felt like celebrities! Thank you for sharing this heavenly haven!

St. Lucia is a beautiful island. Mango Point if a wonderful place to stay to enjoy this island. The staff is friendly and pampered us during our stay. The house itself is charming and very well situated, overlooking the Pitons, the bay and the town of Soufriere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in February, 2007 and are going back in '08.
